Lens error, size of camera not aligned with input frame. Anyone else encountered the same problem?

The exact error I'm getting on a Galaxy A7, while camera goes black, is:

"Lens error detected! Please try again.

Size of camera (360 640) does not align with size of input frame (360x736)!"

It seems to be caused by something in 3D Hand Tracking objects. None of the pre-installed templates with hand tracking work either but I DID find someone else's lens with hand tracking that worked fine. Very confused what that person might have done differently to make it work though.

    Hi!

You should now be able to update to the latest Snapchat version on Android.
    This should resolve this problem.

If you are still experiencing issues after updating Snapchat, please send us a ticket at [email protected]

    Cheers,
    Sonia

    Hi @Harri Mikkola !

    Try this:

    1. In your resources tab, select 'Render Target'

    2. In the inspector tab, uncheck the 'Use Screen Resol.' checkbox and enter 360 x 736, like so:

Let me know if it helps!

    Hi,

I tried fiddling with the resolution earlier and unfortunately setting it to 360x736 didn't make a difference. I'm still getting the same error when sending the lens over to snap. I would chalk it up to being an older device if I hadn't seen a similar lens work just fine for some reason.

It actually looks like the lens opens at first and only after it's all loaded and running, the camera turns off and displays the error.

Could you post the project? I can have a look for you.

I'll have to change some company assets around first, I can upload it tomorrow if you still have a chance then. Thanks!

  • This is the simplest version of what I've got. The object tracks to the wrist and it all works in preview but I still get the same error after sending the lens to snap.

  • Hi!

Sonia from Lens Studio Support here!

We are aware of this issue. Its stemming from Snapchat on some android devices.
We are working on getting this resolved as soon as we can.

This particular issue is not an issue with your lens, it comes from Snapchat itself.
There is no workaround for this issue.

I will let you all know when the latest version is available.

    Cheers,
    Sonia
