Can I get the position and the rotation from an external object into a node in the material editor?

I'm tinkering with the Raymarch Texture Mapping material sample from the Code Node Template and I noticed that when I move the object around ( the object that has this material attached to), the SDF Sphere and the SDF Cube will also move accordingly, but when I rotate the object nothing happens.

So it got me wondering if it is possible to feed the position and rotation from an external object into the SDF objects?
