Hosted WebAR Lens

Hey guys! I'm a bit new in the block but I've been working with webAR tech in the last 5 years. I'm very interested to start using Snapchat WebAR Lenses for my clients but I'm struggling to find information about it. I've just created a lens from a template and did all the process to publish it, but when I try to run the Lens via web I receive this error:

An error occurred while processing this Lens. Refresh the page to continue.

The lens status is Published, so I think it's some other issue.
The link is: https://lens.snap.com/experience/5f11471c-e690-4c37-bdb2-ac18bf45b1e7

Thanks!

The root cause is: "looks like that lens was processing at the time of creation. We will push a fix to block generation until it's fully processed."

In the meantime, you could recreate the lens, publish, wait till approved/process, then generate the url.

    Hi @Alessandro Straccia

Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about this initial error - we'll investigate for you.

What Lens Studio version did you build the lens in? If it is 5.0.12, then this is most likely the root cause as it is not yet supported. See current compatibility here: https://docs.snap.com/camera-kit/ar-content/lens-studio-compatibility

If not, then what device are you testing on (Mobile, Desktop (PC Mac), xyz)

    Steven

  • It's 4.55.1 @stevenxu. I'm testing on a PC laptop with Windows 10, Chrome browser.

Ah, our eng team is aware of this issue and likely knows the root cause. They're working on a new update to push out targeting tomorrow. Will try to remember to update ya when out.

Feel free to also check back in on Friday. Thanks for this report and your patience!

The problem still exists. Is it fixed?

  • I have the same problem.
The browser ask to allow the camera and after that, the message appears:

An error occurred while processing this Lens. Refresh the page to continue.

I tested in different browsers. The lens was created in Version 5.0.14.24061804

    Hi,
Thank you for reporting and sharing the link. I think there is a chance that you enabled Hosted Lenses on a Lens that was not published/approved yet. Can you please try to delete the link and generate again? Let me know if this helped.

We will improve the UI on our side so make sure you can't hit that problem in the future.

  • Hi @JacekC ,

I'm also testing different filters and I get the same problem, even if they are already published.
This is one of them: https://lens.snap.com/experience/9ddb8273-5237-46ca-bfd0-8fe064b589c7

Thank you in advance for your feedback ;)

@Agustin Laudato thanks for reporting. Have you tried to delete the link and generate a new one?

  • It sounds like there might be an issue with the lens processing or a temporary glitch. Double-check that all the settings and assets are correctly configured. If the problem persists, try refreshing the page, clearing your cache, or contacting Snapchat support for assistance.
