I discovered my mistake and created a new private+public key using the commands: openssl genrsa -out snapkit_rsa.pem openssl rsa -in snapkit_rsa.pem -pubout > snapkit_rsa.pub However I still get the same 'unknown error' when I try to add the public key data. My questions all still stand...
