Checking w/ team
-
Hi @TheSpectacle Thanks for posting on the forum and apologies for the delay. I'll submit an eng ticket to try to look into it. Though tbh, if the root cause is outside of the SDK, then it's likely something we cannot address immediately.
-
@"Declan Dwyer" Your observation is likely correct that it is powered by Camera Kit. They are part of our closed pilot program that grants them the exception to build AR mirrors. Currently, we're testing and learning with a few number of companies to determine med to long term plans. Stay tuned!
-
The root cause is: "looks like that lens was processing at the time of creation. We will push a fix to block generation until it's fully processed." In the meantime, you could recreate the lens, publish, wait till approved/process, then generate the url.
-
@"Alessandro Straccia" Ah, our eng team is aware of this issue and likely knows the root cause. They're working on a new update to push out targeting tomorrow. Will try to remember to update ya when out. Feel free to also check back in on Friday. Thanks for this report and your patience!
-
@"Reid Martin" Genius! Makes total sense. Recorded for our team. Curious - has your team considered building your own website and just integrating Camera Kit Web SDK? This enables you more opportunities and flexibility (but it does add the scope of web development)
-
Hi @"Alessandro Straccia" Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about this initial error - we'll investigate for you. What Lens Studio version did you build the lens in? If it is 5.0.12, then this is most likely the root cause as it is not yet supported. See current compatibility here:…
-
Hi @"Reid Martin" ! It is currently not available as you noted, but we are always opened to feedback from our community. I've listed this feature for our PM and Eng team to consider. Could you share more details about your use case if we were to enable this capture feature? What value can this bring for you? Thanks!
-
Hi thanks for posting on the forum! I used Google Translate to understand your message and will use it to reply back. Please note there may be an error in translation (apologies): 更正所有在 Lens Studio 中创建的镜头以分发到相机套件。 它可能无法直接在 Javascript 中创建,因为它与 Lens 相关。
-
Thanks for posting on the forum! I've received your email and will reply soon.
-
Thanks for posting on the forum! Hmm could you share more details on the various devices and which camera kit sdk you are using? FYI - please make sure you are aware of our policy for restricted use cases listed here.
-
@"Roman Fomenko" Yes you can. Here's some documentation on recording video: https://docs.snap.com/camera-kit/guides/web-customization/user-experience/recording-video
-
@chico Thanks for posting on the forum. Here's some insights i got from our eng team:
-
Hi @"Roman Fomenko" Welcome to the community! Here's the answer from our eng team:
-
Eng shared the following: "... this example and others like this will use 2d surface tracking in web and will be a halfway decent estimate atm" So seems this is expected in the current state of our web sdk. Alternative would be to use the mobile sdk to optimize this type of experience
-
@Joysticklab Great question. Your example would be considered virtual try-on if the use case is to facilitate the sale of that item. Here is the documentation. * Virtual try-on of physical goods with an aim toward facilitating a sale of the goods
-
@"Deniz Çetin" Thanks for posting on the forum. I'll ping our Eng to see if they can help out. In the meantime, could you share more details of the methods you tried and what issues or errors you may be seeing ? Steven
-
Ah thanks for the bump. Checking with the team
-
This tutorial may be the closest to what we have at this moment
-
Virtual try-on restrictions per our policy here still stands at the time of this post.
-
Your image is being demo'd on Snapchat app which is optimized and also for our mobile sdk
-
@Joysticklab Ah okay I think you'll run into some limitations due to world ar tracking (rear camera) not the most optimal yet on web. I'll still check with the team though!
-
@Joysticklab Hmm let me ask our lens studio team. But also want to check are you trying to use this via our Camera Kit Mobile or Web SDK?
-
Thanks @Joysticklab for posting on the forum. Fantastic question! * Yes you are so long as this and all camera kit projects adheres to our terms, policies, and guidelines. These can be found in our documentation. A few examples like making sure there's snap attribution, getting approval from our app submission process, use…
-
@aestarita yay! Thanks for closing the loop. Glad you were able figure it out!
-
@aestarita Nice!! No problem. Happy to help. Looking forward to seeing your submission / work!
-
Could you reshare? Seeing a 404
-
@aestarita Thanks for posting on the forum (and closing / updating #1). * You gotta wait for it to be approved. It won't work without the approval. * Not sure I fully understand this question. Try this doc * No need to create a new version. You can use the version that got approved to move forward with production! * Yes…
-
@aestarita happy to help! Ohh I don't think there is something you could pull directly for Web from our existing examples... Are you mixing "Supported by" with "Powered by" Line? If not, could you clarify / specify more what this supported by is? Here are two examples that are using Camera Kit Web you can check out: *…

Ah my mistake, it seems we only have it for recording video, though capturing photo is very much feasible. I just don't have that sample code ready for ya. The recording video if you are curious is here. Thank you!
